The Problem
Weeds are the most common nuisance to all gardeners, appearing in many shapes and sizes. The most common types; dandelion, daisy and buttercup can all cause annoyance and spoil the visual effect of an otherwise perfect lawn.
These perennial weeds compete with the grass plant for light, water and nutrients and can therefore deny grass of its essential elements for growth.
The Solution
Often, weeds are treated with powerful and dangerous chemical weed killers and herbicides, which as well as destroying weeds, can kill other beneficial insects and potentially poison pets and children if ingested.
At The Great Lawn Company, weeds are usually treated with a mixture of an edible plant extract and natural dehydration agent. Although slower acting than a synthetic chemical herbicide, our natural treatment will remove weeds without risking the health of your children and pets. Our treatments also work to prevent weeds from occurring by producing a thick, healthy lawn which out-competes weeds and therefore does not allow them to grow.
